We are a foster based rescue, meaning we do not have a brick and mortar building. Our adoptables are being cared for and loved in wonderful homes in east/central Alabama that have stepped up to get these furbabies ready to be adopted. I love those "love at first sight " moments!! However...before you message and go thru filling out the application, start a check list.... 1. Can I AFFORD _________? is she a baby now? how big will she be full grown? Can I afford the food she needs? Heart Worm prevention every month, flea and tick, yearly vaccinations? The BIGGER the fur baby the BIGGER the BILL, and that is if she is healthy with no complications. 2. COMPLICATIONS.... this adds to the already expensive but oh so worth it furbaby you want to adopt. What if she has allergies? That food bill just jumped up a little higher. What if it is severe allergies... now that vet bill and more medications just jumped up as well. plus, the occasional OOPSIE... cut paw, hot spot, ear infection etc etc etc. 3. Do you rent? If so you need to check what your pet policy is, can you afford the fee? If so, do they have a weight limit or breed ban in place? 4. Do you have other pets? Is everyone up to date on their vaccinations? Spayed and/or neutered? 5. IMPORTANT!!!!!! Our adoptables are INSIDE FURBABIES Not OUTSIDE PETS!!!! It doesn't matter how big or small they are. 6. OK!!! We try to meet in high visible safe places that allows pets. Home Depot, Lowes, Buccees has a pet walking area, pet stores etc. Our adoptables are in east/central Alabama Pell City area.
