THE IMPORTANCE OF FOSTERING!
In rescue, you will always hear... oh I could never do that ! It would be too hard to let them go.
They mean it as a compliment but it always breaks my heart a little because they are right. It is EXTREMELY hard to let them go! I foster failed the first 3! I just couldn't imagine anyone out there loving them the way I loved them, giving them the attention I gave them. Then when the time came that we HAD to let one go to adoption IT WAS TO NEW YORK!!! AND I HAD TO TAKE HIM TO TRANSPORT!! I am not ashamed to say my hubby and I cried like babies that had just dropped their ice cream cone and couldn't get another. Yes it was a scary sight.
AND THEN
I started getting pictures from his temporary foster mom in New York and they were precious
BUT NOTHING COMPARED TO HIS ADOPTION MOM
My Inigo was spoiled rotten to say the least, I have pictures of him running in the snow with 4 wheelers, she would take him ice fishing and all of the kids would play ball with him. As the years have gone by She met someone and started a family. He has never been sidelined and and I treasure every moment that has been captured and shared with me.
Inigos life started out as a mangy undernourished back yard breeder/hoarders puppy. His life would most likely have ended before it even got started. So yes, I will gladly have my heart shattered over and over again like so many others in
FOSTERING
